A free meal!!
Yup, if you know the right people or have the right connections, you can get freebies! Here in "Boleh-land" of course! ("boleh" is our national language meaning "Can" or "Possible").
In my previous post, I talked about a new software to be used in the Courts. Mind you, this is not a new thing. I was told (meaning this is ALL HEARSAY and I cannot verify the truth of the same - so dun attach much weight to what is about to be said!) by the person in charge of implementing this new software that years ago, the government asked companies to submit in tenders to obtain the rights and the contract to come out wif a software to be used in the Courts.
There were quite a number of companies interested as winning the tender would mean gaining a RM20 million (around USD5 million) contract from the government.
3 days after the tenders were submitted, the companies were all asked to take back their tenders. None of the companies were awarded the contract. It was decided that the contract would be given to a certain company.
Unfortunately, after that certain company obtained the contract and the funds, nothing came out of it.
Now they are trying to start up the project again.
Oh, I was told oso (again hearsay and so please dun attached much weight to this) that the company which got the RM20 million contract happened to belong to the son of one of our previous Prime Minister.
